Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Production Planner to develop, manage, and optimize the master production schedule across assigned value streams. This role is crucial to ensuring on-time, in-full (OTIF) order completion while balancing machine efficiency, labor utilization, and inventory management. The Scheduler serves as the key decision-maker for production flow, capacity planning, and order prioritization—working closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production Scheduling

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly finite production schedules.
• Ensure schedules align with capacity, customer requirements, and delivery commitments.
• Balance inventory levels and machine workloads to optimize throughput and minimize changeovers.
• Set and manage weekly/monthly capacity plans per value stream.
• Monitor and adjust schedules to maintain OTIF performance.

Communication & Collaboration

• Communicate production schedules and changes promptly to all relevant departments.
• Serve as a central point of contact between production, operations, and supply chain teams.
• Provide clear direction and demonstrate leadership in a cross-functional environment.
• Positively influence team dynamics, including peers and leadership, to achieve department goals.

Process & Product Knowledge

• Maintain deep understanding of product types, material flow, and production bottlenecks.
• Become the subject matter expert (SME) for scheduling and inventory management systems.
• Support and cross-train on backup responsibilities for other Production Schedulers.

Continuous Improvement

• Align actions with departmental mission, vision, and values.
• Leverage Lean principles, root cause problem-solving, and visual management tools.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Stay current with industry trends and pursue ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in production scheduling, planning, or operations management.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, materials flow, and capacity planning.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-change environments.
• Commitment to environmental sustainability and workplace safety.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling software.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, databases, etc.).
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt preferred).
