Works as part of a team in the classroom and within the whole center to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth of children by providing developmentally appropriate care; observing and documenting children's learning and development; and communicating with parents and center team members. A minimum of 9 credits in Early Childhood Education, including 3 from a Child Growth and Development class, all from a regionally accredited college. Certification required to obtain: Must be certified in Infant and Child CPR including AED training, and Basic First Aid within 6 months of hire; must complete Water Safety training within 1 year of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of one year’s experience working with young children in a group setting. Responsibilities include demonstrating support for classroom team and all co-workers in the Center; developing and maintaining positive relationships with each child and family; engaging with children to meet their developmental and social-emotional needs; modeling and teaching children self-regulation skills; implementing a child-centered curriculum in a safe, organized environment; supporting and following Concord Hospital and Learning Center policies and procedures; committing to continual learning and professional development; suggesting improvements based on best practice. Physical and work requirements include lifting and carrying weights up to 50 pounds occasionally, frequent bending, reaching, walking, and exposure to bodily fluids and airborne contaminants.
