Freese and Nichols' Central Plains Transportation team (serving Oklahoma and Arkansas) is seeking a talented and driven Traffic Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, or Rogers. This role involves designing innovative solutions to optimize traffic flow and create efficient transportation systems impacting thousands of commuters daily. Responsibilities include developing and designing traffic engineering projects, conducting traffic studies, creating signal timing plans, performing operations analyses, building microsimulation models, preparing project plans and drawings including traffic signal design and intersection improvements, collaborating with colleagues, managing project budgets and schedules, conducting research, gathering traffic data, performing calculations and transportation analyses, managing technical activities on assigned projects, and performing field work as needed. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering, a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Oklahoma or ability to obtain within 6 months, and 6+ years of related experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM, TRANSCAD, familiarity with MUTCD, HCM, AASHTO Geometric Design standards, knowledge of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications, ability to collaborate in a project team, and self-direction.
